- Shipowner: CSSC Fincantieri
- Shipyard: Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding
At the end of 2023, China will launch H1508, its first entirely home-grown cruise ship. For the first time in the history of the Chinese shipbuilding industry, a hull had to be designed with shapes varying from one story to the next, whilst continuing to meet strict safety requirements.
Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipyard has chosen ISOVER solutions, in particular ISOVER ULTIMATE U SeaProtectTM, to achieve the highest level of certification in terms of fire resistance, soundproofing and thermal insulation, in order to guarantee passengers an experience on a par with a luxury hotel.

The ULTIMATE U SeaProtectTM solution is a new generation of high-performance mineral wool, the result of 25 years of ISOVER research. Its flexibility allowed it to respond to the challenges posed by the shape of the ship’s hull. Compared with traditional mineral wool, ULTIMATE U SeaProtectTM is 50% lighter but has the same characteristics. A real asset on a boat where every kilogram increases the consumption and ultimately the carbon footprint of the journey.
